Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - Problems of the central Telenesti district today were in the focus of the government, the entire composition of which went to this district. “We have not come for you to praise us; we have come to speak about problems and find solutions. I encourage you to come up with proposals. To my regret, there were situations when mayors fled these meetings, as they are from one political formation or another. Let us put aside the political dimension. We are here as government in order to listen, first of all, to you and urge you to fully take advantage of this opportunity,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the PM also said that the authorities remained focused on the promotion of reforms and projects on Moldova’s modernization. The actions undertaken by the cabinet have already yielded the first results. Thus, last year, for the first time ever, the number of people leaving abroad dropped under 2,000 persons. So far, more than 6,000 people were annually leaving the country. “We cannot close the borders, for people not to leave. All we must do is to create conditions here, at home – this means salaries, quality medical services and developed infrastructure,” the prime minister noted.
To provide young people with dwellings, the First Home programme is implemented. As many as 559 families have already bought a dwelling under this programme. For us to have teachers in villages, the single allowance for young teachers has been increased from 45,000 lei to 120,000 lei. And to cover the deficit of 200 physicians in villages, the reform of primary medicine was initiated, which provides for the opening of family physicians’ offices. The infrastructure of roads is improved through the carrying out of the Good Roads for Moldova programme. A new wage payment law is to be approved, which will lead to the increase in salaries. All these actions of the government have a single goal – improving the citizens’ living standards.
During discussions, representatives of local authorities tackled more problems: the low selling prices for farming products, insufficient financing of pre-school institutions, as well as the lack of financial means for the repair of local roads. The participants also approached the issue of purchasing a Roentgen apparatus for the Telenesti district hospital. A decision was taken that the money needed on this purpose be earmarked from funds of the National Health Insurances Company. The problems of the business environment from the region were brought for discussion at a meeting between the prime minister and economic agents. Each problem tackled was noted for a detailed consideration and for finding the best solution.
