Schedule of events organised on occasion of Chisinau's Dedication Day made public

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ – The City hall of Chisinau has made public the programme of cultural and artistic demonstrations dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the City of Chisinau, which will take place on Sunday, 14 October.

The celebrations for this holiday will start at 08:30 with laying flowers at the monument of rule Stefan cel Mare si Sfant. Also, the Liturgy will be celebrated at the Metropolitan Cathedral Birth of the Lord.

Also in the morning, at 10:00, there will be inaugurated exhibitions of handicraft, floristry, book, painting, graphics, etc. on the Metropolitan Cathedral square.

The official inauguration of the celebration: The Day of the City of Chisinau will take place at 11:00 in the square of Metropolitan Cathedral Birth of the Lord. The demonstrations will continue in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN), where it will evolve several artistic ensembles.

Also, the sector praetors will organise a musical – choreographic programme at the booths on bd. Stefan cel Mare si Sfant.

The inhabitants of Chisinau will also have a choreographic show: Chisinau – the cradle of beautiful hopes, which will be presented by the artistic groups of the pre – university education institutions in Chisinau. It will take place at 14:00 – 16:00 on the stage of PMAN. There will also be a choreographic show of modern dance, waltzes and tangos famous with the marching band of the Department of Culture and Recreation Parks of Chisinau.

The main performance dedicated to the Day of the City of Chisinau will be held in PMAN. Here, there will evolve both national and international performers. It will start at 17:30 and end at 23:30.

In 2018, the dedication of the city of Chisinau will be celebrated without fireworks. The local authorities announced that the decision was taken as a sign of solidarity with the victims of the explosion of last week in Rascani sector of Chisinau municipality.

The Chisinau City hall announced that during the holiday, the road traffic will be suspended on bd. Stefan cel Mare si Sfant, in the perimeter of streets Ismail – Mihai Viteazul, in connection with the organisation on the central boulevard of the cultural and artistic manifestations dedicated to the celebration. Thus, during this period, it will be redirected the circulation of public transport to adjacent streets.
