About 120,000 people participate in National Wine Day in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - About 120,000 persons participated in the 17th issue of the National Wine Day, marked on the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) from Chisinau in the last week-end.
According to data by the National Office of Vine and Wine, during two days, visitors bought 83,000 bottles of wine and tasted about 10,000 bottles presented by those 60 producers which participated in the event.
At the same time, thousands of tourists from different countries entertained in PMAN, including from Japan, China, USA, France, Ukraine, Romania and Russia. The event was covered in the international media by 30 journalists from France, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy and USA.
Besides the holiday in PMAN, on the Wine Day, tens of wineries from Moldova opened their doors for about 7,500 tourists, who tasted and purchased almost 13,000 Vinul Moldovei (Moldova’s Wine) bottles directly from the producer.
For the first time ever, the National Wine Day was held in Romania as well, where 30 Moldovan producers displayed their goods. In Romania, 10,000 people wine lovers had occasion to discover Moldovan wines. They tasted and bought 10,000 wine bottles.
The vine-growing and wine-making industry includes more than 1,000 enterprises and 150,000 employees in Moldova.
