Working groups for civil status acts, residents' documentation hold meeting in Tiraspol

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - The working groups for civil status acts and residents’ documentation today held a meeting at the Tiraspol-based OSCE Mission in Moldova, after a break which had lasted since July 2016, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The discussions were focused on the presentation of the new amendments to Moldova’s legislation in terms of providing services of civil acts to the residents from the left bank of Dniester and the Bender municipality, especially the introduction of a new Article, 131, in the Law No 100/2001 on the civil status acts.
Participants in the meeting stressed that the release of civil status documents by the Public Services Agency, at the request by the residents from the left bank of Dniester, had been and remained a continuous process, carried out in order to ensure the rights and freedoms of these citizens.
The Moldovan side said that a mechanism of information exchange in this respect can be enforced only on condition that the rigours concerning the personal data protection are observed.
The exchange of opinions on these and other topical subjects will continue at the next meeting, the date of which is to be set in the working regime.
