Moldovan foreign affairs minister presents Moldova's investment opportunities in Luxembourg

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Luxembourg Carlo Thelen have discussed ways of boosting the Moldovan-Luxembourg commercial and economic relations through organizing events due to promote investment opportunities from Moldova.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi unveiled the main reforms approved by the Moldovan government to attract investors to Moldova’s market, especially in the sectors of infrastructure, energy security and information technologies. The diplomat also highlighted opportunities offered by the free economic zones, industrial parks and the IT sector. “We want an as active as possible presence of Luxembourg investors in the national economy and we are set to organize the Moldovan-Luxembourg economic forum, in order to familiarize business people from Luxembourg with the investment opportunities from Moldova,” Minister Tudor Ulianovschi said.
Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Luxembourg Carlo Thelen appreciated the measures undertaken by the Moldovan cabinet, assessed also by the Doing Business 2018 report, in which Moldova ranked 44th out of 190 countries, recording progress in terms of starting a business, protection of minority investors and registration of property.
Director General Carlo Thelen welcomed the initiative to hold a Moldovan-Luxembourg business forum and the exchange of experience with institutions for promoting trade and attracting investments in Moldova.
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi participates in a meeting of the foreign affairs ministers in the format Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) – European Union (28 member states, European External Action Service, European Commission), held in Luxembourg today.
