Moldovan agency for energy efficiency identifies investments for renewable energy projects

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ – There were presented affordable financing programmes for renewable energy projects at the Energy Efficiency Finance Workshop, organized by the Energy Efficiency Agency (AEE) today. The event took place during Moldova Eco Energetics Days, the eighth issue, which takes place in Chisinau on 15 – 18 October.

The representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB) presented project: The financing of energy efficiency in the residential sector, which is new to Moldova. The project will be launched in the spring of 2019 with a total budget of €80 million.

Also, the experts of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) presented the EU4Business credit line for Moldovan SMEs. The economic agents are able to obtain loans throughout local partner banks with 10 – 15 per cent subsidies and free technical assistance. The loans are granted to companies wishing to implement energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

The event participants had the opportunity to present their projects directly to financial institutions to obtain investment in it.

According to a press release of AEE, the specialists of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) informed the target audience about the provisions of the new law on energy efficiency.

Moldova Eco Energetics has been running since 2011 and it is the biggest event of 2018 aimed at promoting energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources in Moldova.
