Traffic, parking of vehicles to be prohibited on several streets in Chisinau during visit of Turkish president

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/- Traffic and parking of the means of transport will be banned on several streets of the capital during the travel of the official column of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The head of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP), Liviu Baziuc, made the statement today at a press conference.
According to the INP leadership, during the two days, the road traffic will be stopped on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, Serghei Lazo Street - Mitropolit G. Bănulescu-Bodoni Street, and public transport will run on Bucharest street.
“Measures have been taken to prevent public order violations. During the movement of the official column, traffic will be stopped on the following streets: bd. Dacia, bd. Ştefan cel Mare, str. Al. Puşkin and others. At the same time, the work of the petrol stations around will be suspended. During traffic restrictions, police officers will be actively involved in the fluidization of road traffic, and drivers are required to comply with temporary signs,” Baziuc said.
For his part, the head of the General Directorate for Public Security of the General Police Inspectorate, Marin Maxian, said that the measures would be mandatory, as the Republic of Moldova ensures the protection of official persons in accordance with international treaties.
“We urge citizens passing around areas where security measures are applied, to cooperate with police. Persons working or living in restricted areas will have to present appropriate documents or service cards to access these places. At the same time, people with weapons and ammunition will be restricted. People who do not comply may risk responding to their actions," he said.
Public events will be banned in restricted areas.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is on a visit to Moldova. He will meet head of state Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Pavel Filip. The official will visit Gagauzia, where will inaugurate several social objectives.
During the visit of Erdoğan, the Moldovan presidency building will be inaugurated, renovation of which was fully financed by Turkey.
