Moldovan economic agents starting businesses in energy efficiency sector to benefit from financing

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The economic agents intending to start and do a business in the energy efficiency sector will benefit from financial and technical support. The concept of project to this end was signed within the Eco Energy Moldova Days, the 2018 issue, in Chisinau today.
The document was signed by an expert the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Manuel Mattiat, and the director of the Agency for Energy Efficiency, Alexandru Ciudin. The overall budget of the project is of 2.25 million dollars and it will be implemented during three years.
The basic activities of the project are focused on enterprises’ support to implement projects which would lead to the refurbishment of Moldova’s energy sector, optimization of the energy consumption by end consumers and diversification of energy sources.
Alexandru Ciudin said the project was an innovation for Moldova and sees, in particular, working out of pilot projects and financing of startups in the energy efficiency field. At the same time, feasibility studies will be elaborated within the project and entrepreneurs will benefit from training.
The programme of technological innovation for small- and medium-sized enterprises and startups from Moldova will be implemented based on the concept of a global programme, which has been already carried out in eight countries by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, in partnership with the Global Environment Facility.
