Moldovan government approves national terrorist alert system

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The mechanism of informing the residents about eventual terrorist dangers and measures undertaken by the authorities to prevent them will be improved. To this end, the cabinet today approved a national terrorist alert system (SNAT). The document is aimed at preventing, discouraging and combating the terrorism in Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
SNAT represents a single platform of informing and coordination of measures nationally. The system comprises recommendations for the citizens in case of terrorist alert, the tasks of the authorities with powers in this sector and provides for grading the situation of anti-terrorist security, depending on the domestic and regional dangers. SNAT has four levels: low (blue colour), moderate (yellow colour), high (orange colour) and critical (red colour). At each level of alert set, the competent authorities will undertake specific measures for ensuring the national security.
Also today, the cabinet approved a regulation on the organization and carrying out anti-terrorist tests. They are necessary in order to improve the system of ensuring the anti-terrorist protection.
