Museum of history of Jews from Moldova to be set up in Chisinau

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - A museum of history of Jews from Moldova will be opened in Chisinau. A decision to this effect was approved at a cabinet meeting today, in order to promote the history and develop the multicultural dialogue.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the museum will be dedicated to the cultivation of the memory of the Holocaust, combating anti-Semitism, promoting culture, tolerance and peace. An educational centre and a library will be placed at the museum. Also, permanent and topic-related exhibitions will be staged; the exhibitions will be mobile and could be inaugurated also in other settlements of Moldova.

There are such museums in more European countries, such as Romania, Poland, Hungary, France, the United Kingdom, Latvia, Lithuania.
