Decision on approving rules of organizing primary medical assistance to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - The decision on the approval of rules of organizing the primary medical assistance, worked out in the context of establishing the free practice of family physician, will be published in the 19 October issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The document establishes new forms of work of family medicine offices, criteria and way of establishing, assigning, withdrawal, suspension or transmission of family physician’s practices, as well as other provisions which condition the good work of family medicine offices.
Under the decision, the family physician’s practice represents a delimited territorial sector, which comprises, as case may be, one or more settlements, streets or blocks of flats and which has a population between 1,200 and 2,200 persons, with the recommended figure being of 1,700 people.
The practices will be assigned on the basis of contest, due to be organized, as a rule, annually, in a two-week term after the end of the residency education in family medicine.
The act also stipulates that the financial means of the providers of primary medical assistance can come from providing services on the basis of contract signed with the National Health Insurances Company, as well as from other financial sources allowed by the legislation.
The new rules on the organization of primary medical assistance will be enforced in several stages. Thus, as for the practices from the rural zone without family physicians, they will be enforced beginning with the Decision’s publication in the Official Journal; as for the practices from the Chisinau municipality (excepting the villages and communes of the municipality) – starting from 1 July 2019 and for other practices of family physician – beginning with 1 January 2019.
