Project on residual waters' management launched in central Moldova

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - A new project due to contribute to a better management of residual waters was launched in the Centru (Central) Region of Moldova on 17 October. The programme is to be carried out by the Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru), in partnership with the Senec-Pezinok Regional Development Agency from Slovakia and the Straseni town mayoralty.
„One of the main goals of this project is to support the sustainable and fair social and economic development of Moldova’s Centru Development Region, through efficient interventions in the sector of supply with water and sewerage,” the director of ADR Centru, Viorel Jardan, said.
For his part, Ambassador of Slovakia to Moldova Dušan Dacho, attending the event, said that “this project is an example of support of Moldova’s citizens on behalf of Slovakia.” “We are set to jointly carry out projects on supply with water and sanitation, in the environmental protection field, programmes which provide for exchange of experience on integration into the European Union and technical assistance,” Dušan Dacho stressed.
Within the project launched, a sewerage network with a length of 3,200 metres will be constructed in central Moldova. Operators of the Apa Canal enterprises from the towns of the Centru Region will benefit from this project.
The project, Support for development of management of residual waters in the central region of Moldova – a better management of residual waters step by step, is financed through the Slovak Agency for International Development (SlovakAid) and implemented in ADR Centru. The project has a budget of about 221,000 euros.
