Asylum built with Turkey's support opened in south Moldova city

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ – There was opened a new block of asylum for the elderly in Ceadar – Lunga city today, in the presence of a delegation of officials from Turkey. The institution will be named after the wife of Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was in UTA Gagauzia during the official visit to Moldova.
"Emine Erdoğan is a project designed for elderly people, to whom the authorities have a special attitude. We completed the construction of this asylum in a timely manner, over a year, thanks to the support of our Turkish partners," said the first deputy governor of the Gagauzian autonomy, Vadim Ceban, at inauguration ceremony.
The institution in Ceadar – Lunga was built following a collaboration agreement between the Comrat Executive and Altındağ City Hall, which is part of Turkey's Ankara Province.
Present at the opening of the Asylum, Mayor of Altındag, Veysel Tiryaki, mentioned the good cooperation with Gagauzian authorities. "We have an effective partnership that allows us to carry out more social projects for the region," said Veysel Tiryaki.
The Ceadar – Lunga asylum will host 32 beneficiaries. The rooms were equipped with bathrooms, space for rest and medical assistance, new furniture, suitable for immobilised persons, etc.
The amount of the investment offered by Turkish partners amounted to €500,000. This following that fact, that the Moldovan legislature decided in spring 2018 that the entrepreneur which had been involved in the construction of the Elderly asylum house of Ceadar – Lunga would be exempt from the payment of customs duties and value added tax on the import of materials and services.
