Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ – The National Library of Moldova (BNM) has organised a series of events dedicated to the 18th issue of the Italian Language Week (L'Italiano Nostro e degli Altri/Our Italian and of Others).
Attending the event, Ambassador of Italy to Chisinau, Valeria Biagiotti, noted that this event is taking place throughout the world under the High Patronage of the President of Italy. The official thanked the BNM administration for organising and hosting several events related to Italian culture, history and literature.
At her turn, the head of host institution, Elena Pintilei, referred to the joint projects with the Italian Embassy, "the country with which we have many points of contact and the Italian language is very close to our hearts."
The participants at the event had the opportunity to attend the presentation of the books of writers Eugenia Bulat, Claudia Partole, Tatiana Besliu and Iurie Bojonca, which appeared in Italian language in Italy and Moldova. In the context, writer Eugenia Bulat said she was in Venice for more than seven years, where she wrote three books. And the writer Claudia Partole mentioned that she was several times in Italy, where she tried to understand the phenomenon of migration.
"In the beginning, the world went away from trouble, and in the second and third waves – from the love for the Italian culture. Those who come back come with the Italian language and habits from there. It is true – exodus also means pain. There have never been so many orphans with parents alive. Italy has made us see our soul again," said Claudia Partole.
Further, pupils from the theoretical lyceums Dante Alighieri and Lucian Blaga presented a recital of poetry and prose in Italian language from the authors which published books in Italy and Moldova. The event ended with a romantic programme, backed by Italian pianist, former director of Theatre Giuseppe Verdi in Padua, Raffaele Scognamiglio.
