Young Moldovan entrepreneurs to benefit from 60 million lei to develop business

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - The business started by young entrepreneurs will be backed by the state through the programme, Start for Young People: A Sustainable Business at Home. A cabinet decision on the project’s approval was published in the today’s issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The programme’s goal is to facilitate the starting of businesses and to motivate young people in carrying out entrepreneurial activities. The initiative is to be fulfilled during 2018-2020.
Besides the financial support, within the programme, young people will benefit from consultative and information support for the business due to create jobs in rural areas, as well as for those focused on priority fields, such as: IT, agro-food industry, reconstruction of water and sewerage supply systems, providing services, health and well-being.
In the first stage of the programme, business ideas will be identified; participants will be able to benefit from Business Voucher worth 10,000 lei at the most, which they will use to test ideas, for trainings in specific sectors, as well as for working out the investment plan.
The final stage provides for the selection of the most viable and innovative investment projects. The financing will account for 80 per cent of the project’s sum, but no more than 180,000 lei; at the same time, the beneficiary enterprise will come up with its own financial contribution of at least 20 per cent of the project’s sum. At least 250 businesses will be financed in all.
Moldovan citizens with ages between 18 and 35 years, who indent to start a business or already lead a newly registered enterprise in Moldova, will be able to participate in the programme.
During the programme’s implementation, decision-makers plan to promote and inform about 1,000 young people about opportunities of participating in the programme, to involve 600 young people in the process of generating innovating ideas, to traing and assist at least 540 young people in doing business.
The authority in charge of programme’s implementation and the monitoring of the enterprises launched within it during two years is the Organization for Small and Middle Enterprises Sector Development. About 60 million lei will be earmarked from the state budget to carry out the programme.
