Agricultural fair to be organized only in Rascani district of Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - An agricultural fair, within which consumers are able to buy fruits and vegetables directly from producers, will be organized only in the Rascani district of Chisinau during this week-end. The fair will be placed on the Miron Costin street, in the perimeter of the Moscova blvd and Nicolae Dimo street. The Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry informed about this decision today.   

The authorities last week said that such fairs would be held on each Saturday till late next November. The first locations where fairs were proposed to be organized were the Telecentru district, bridge area, Buiucani district, on the Ioana Radu  street, nearby the Dendrariu park and in the Rascani district, on the Andrei Doga street.   

The head of the information service at the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry, Ecaterina Grigorean, told MOLDPRES that the decision to hold the fair starting from this week only in the Rascani district of Chisinau was prompted by the fact that, in late last week, the number of farmers present had been low in the other locations.  

The authorities will consider possibility in the long run to organize fairs also in other places, depending on producers’ demands.

The goal of holding fairs is to give producers possibility to present their products directly to consumers at a reasonable price. The fair will be opened starting from 9:00 till late in the evening.
