Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and the entire governmental team today paid a visit to the central Straseni town, where they discussed problems of the districts’ residents and solutions to them, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„Visits to areas reveal more problems specific for more settlements of Moldova. We know them well. Yet, I want to say one thing: when we cease revolting that nobody is coming to solve our problems, when we do not expect solutions from Moscow or Brussels, but we just take off our coats to work, then we will live well in Moldova,” the prime minister said.
Pavel Filip referred to subjects hotly discussed in the society: people leaving abroad, bank fraud, lack of physicians and teachers in villages. “We want people to have a correct attitude towards this government. We are ready to be responsible for what we have taken over, as well as for what we have managed to do till present,” the PM noted. In the context, Filip highlighted the strengthening of the banking system and amendment of the legislation, so that such thefts never be possible in the long run. The prime minister clearly explained what had been done so far and how the remaining problems would be settled.
Pavel Filip also touched upon the pensions’ reform. “We know that the pensions are still low. We have not said that we would double or triple the pensions; we said that we would remove an injustice and we have done this. The average pension increased by 22 per cent and we have exceeded the subsistence minimum for the first time ever,” the PM said.
Referring to the issue of people leaving abroad, Pavel Filip said that “people can be persuaded to remain at home not by words, but by deeds.” For this, the government has launched a string of social programmes: First Home, PARE 1+1, Start for Young People, as well as the allocation, this year, of 45 million lei for young people and women starting businesses in agriculture. Also, allowances have been increased for young teachers from 45,000 lei to 120,000 lei in the first three years of work and the reform of the primary medical assistance has been approved, which will give physicians possibility to have free practice.
Representatives of the local authorities tackled more problems they are facing: difficulties in selling farming products, lack of means for the restoration of local roads and for supplying settlements with water and sewerage, nourishment of children in schools, as well as deficiencies in the management of solid waste. All problems approached have been noted and are to be systematized, in order to find solutions.
Also today, the prime minister discussed with district’s business people the needs they have and what the cabinet should undertake in continuation, in order to facilitate the activity of the business. The PM said that he had wanted a permanent platform of communication with business people and the Economic Council under the Prime Minister had been set up to this end. More problems have been identified and solutions have been found on this platform. Thus, the number of bodies with control duties was cut, the Labour Code was amended and actions were taken to liberalize the labour force market.
