Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets new Head of Council of Europe's Office in Chisinau

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and new Head of the Council of Europe’s (CoE) Office in Chisinau William Massolin discussed Moldova’s cooperation with the Council of Europe (CoE), developments concerning the carrying out of the CoE’s Action Plan for Moldova for 2017-2020, as well as other issues of common interest, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, Tudor Ulianovschi wished the European official an efficient mandate in Moldova, highlighting the constructive partnership established between the Moldovan authorities and CoE. Referring to the bilateral cooperation, Ulianovschi expressed confidence in the support by CoE of Moldova’s efforts in the process of the country’s reformation and modernization in all sectors: political, economic, social, etc., as well as in the promotion and strengthening the confidence building measures on both banks of Dniester.
The officials reviewed the agenda of bilateral cooperation, including the completion of the first phase of the implementation of the CoE-EU Partnership for Good Governance, meant for the Eastern Partnership countries for 2015-2018, as well as prospects of new projects within these documents of policies.
For his part, the new head of the Council of Europe’s Office in Chisinau reiterated CoE’s support for Moldova’s European integration, reforms implemented by the Moldovan authorities, the final goal of which must be the creation of a rule of law state, where the European standards and values are observed.
William Massolin started his mandate in Moldova on 1 October 2018. Earlier, he has acted in various structures of the organization, the last job being the one of head of the CoE Office in Tunisia.
