Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - A draft law on the shortening of kindergartens’ working schedule is initiated and is to be subjected to public discussions, the Education, Culture and Research Ministry said today.
Specifications to this effect were made after today information had been published in mass media reading that the pre-school institutions from Moldova will work according to a schedule of ten hours, and not 12 ones, as it presently the case for most kindergartens from Moldova’s capital.
Ministry’s representatives said that “at present, there is no normative act approved, which deals with the shortening of kindergartens’ working schedule, as the initiative is only at the phase of draft law. At the same time, a final decision on education institutions’ working schedule will be taken after the draft is approved and subjected to public consultations,” reads a press release by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry.
Data unveiled by the ministry shows that only 173 out of an overall number of 1,458 early education institutions worked in a schedule of 12 hours. At the same time, 1,253 institutions (about 86 per cent) worked with a schedule of 9-10.5 hours, 26 kindergartens had established a regime of 6 or 4 hours and another six ones benefited from a special schedule.
