Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - The programme on getting Moldova’s citizenship through investment was launched internationally at the Global Residence and Citizenship Conference, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A delegation of Moldova, led by Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici, participates in the event.
The Economics Ministry said that the programme on getting the citizenship through investment would stimulate the economic growth, would inspire local industries and would facilitate the development of the society, in general. According to Gaburici, collective funds will be invested in infrastructure, education and other projects of strategic importance for Moldova. “Statistics speak for themselves; we must only analyze the annual financial reports of such countries as Latvia, Malta, Cyprus, Canada, Australia and others, where a similar programme has been implemented,” Chiril Gaburici said.
The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry said, in a press release, that the goal of the programme on getting the citizenship through investment was to consolidate the perception and competitiveness of Moldova on the international stage, in order to attract foreign direct investments into strategic development sectors. According to the programme, a foreign investor will be able to get Moldova’s citizenship, if he/she allocates at least 100,000 euros into the sustainable development fund or at least 250,000 euros into a strategic development field.
The regulation on the getting of the citizenship through investment was approved by the government in late last September.
A Moldova’s delegation led by Minister Chiril Gaburici is on a working visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 4-6 November 2018.
