Moldovan capital's city hall to purchase ten special vehicles for removing snow

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall this year will buy ten special vehicles for removing snow. The head of the public transport and communication ways general department at the city hall, Vitalie Butucel, made statements to this effect at a today’s operative meeting of the Moldovan capital’s city hall’s services.   

The vehicles are equipped with shovel and brush. They can be used both for removing snow and for works of maintaining roads. The new equipment will allow the usual removal of snow through spreading sand and salt, as well as through using liquid anti-skid material.   

The cars for the maintenance of roads are of the KAMAZ type and are made in Russia. Six technology units are with three axes and another four with two axes.

The vehicles are bought based on tender and the first transport means are to be brought to Chisinau in late 2018. The overall cost of the special cars is 16.6 million lei, allocated from the municipal budget.   

At earlier meetings, the Chisinau acting general mayor, Ruslan Codreanu, said that, “if necessary, the municipality will additionally contract economic agents with special equipment for snow removal works.”    

At present, the EXDRUPO Municipal Administration has about 90 units for snow removal.
