Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/- Over 300 drivers were sanctioned by patrol officers on 1-4 November for the installation of xenon headlights in cars, limiting visibility of other drivers.
The National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) reminds drivers that the circulation of cars that have illegally installed xenon headlamps, except for those installed by the factory manufacturer, is forbidden.
INP Press Officer Natalia Golovco said that the provision of cars with this type of headlamps in the country's auto services may be uncertain, and that lighting fixtures may not meet the norms. "Illegal installation of xenon headlamps is one of the causes of road accidents both day and night, as the light flux limits the visibility of other drivers. In Moldova, the illegal installation of this type of headlamps is forbidden throughout the year, "Golovco said.
For the installation of xenon lights, drivers risk fines of 150-300 lei.
