Developments in Transnistrian settlement process discussed at foreign ministry

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/- Developments in the Transnistrian settlement process and the current stage of implementation of the protocol decisions signed during the last two years were discussed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi and Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.

The officials found that there is enough political potential and willingness to continue the positive dynamics of the dialogue, which will be reflected in the Ministerial Declaration on the Transnistrian settlement process at the meeting of the Council of Ministers in Milan, Italy.

Ulianovschi reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ openness to identify tangible solutions in the Transnistrian case and confirmed the importance of starting discussions on the "third basket" issues on the 5 + 2 negotiation agenda on the elaboration and adoption of a special legal status for the Transnistrian region by respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.
