Soldiers with secondary education to be involved in military service by contract

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/- Soldiers with secondary education will be involved in military service by contract. A draft law on the matter was adopted today by a vote of 55 MPs.

Lawmakers today adopted a new structure of military degrees and according to new regulations, soldiers with only secondary education will be able to remain in service after the expiry of first contract of military service. At present, the contract is concluded for a period of 3 years, provided that, during this period, the person obtains high school or technical level education. Otherwise, upon expiration of the contract, the soldiers will be released from military service, giving them three monthly balances.

At the same time, the draft sees new military grades for soldiers and sergeants, which will be correlated with the military functions they will hold, studies and vocational training, seniority and previously held military rank. Also, the new provisions will ensure the interoperability of soldiers and sergeants with similar staff in other countries, especially for multinational peacekeeping missions.
