Sellers to be required to collect waste from work

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/- Local councils may have the right to set prohibitions and requirements for waste management by trade units operating on the territory of the local public administration authority. A draft law in this regard was adopted today in final reading by MPs.

The new amendments to the current legislation stipulate that the obligation of traders to manage the waste from their activity will be included in the local trade activities Regulation.

Thus, waste collection and transport will be carried out by the trader if he has waste management permit or by legal entities holding a waste management authorization and who have concluded a contract with the trader.

The new regulations will enter into force six months after the date of publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
