Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - The period of enforcement of the financing agreement between Moldova’s government and the European Union, signed in 2013, will be extended from 87 to 102 months and the duration of its operational implementation - from 63 to 78 months. A provision to this effect is contained in a cabinet decision on the ratification of the Addendum No 3 to the financing agreement between the Moldovan cabinet and EU, approved today.
The agreement refers to the framework programme on support of the current and future agreements between the European Union and Moldova, signed in Brussels on 14 June 2013. The agreement, addendums No 1 and No 2, envisages the providing of technical assistance worth 32.54 million euros by the European Union, in order to back Moldova in the preparation, negotiation and implementation of the new contractual relations with EU (Association Agreement, including the Free Trade Agreement).
The extension of the implementation period is also dictated by a delay in the implementation of the project titled, Corruption control through law enforcement and prevention, within the component II of the aforementioned agreement “and the need to prolong the deadline of its implementation by 15 months.”
The addendum No 3 is to be ratified by the parliament, proceeding from the fact that the basic financing agreement, as well as the two previous addendums were subjected to ratification.
