Chisinau, 08 November /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved today the draft law on ratification of the Protocol between the Government of Moldova and Turkey amending the Agreement on the reciprocal abolition of visas, done at Ankara on 01 November 2012. The changes which have been made offer the citizens of both states possibility to travel each other based on identity cards.
The actuality of Protocol, signed in Chisinau on 17 October 2018, is determined by the desire of both states to intensify the relations of cooperation between Moldova and Turkey, including in order to facilitate mutual travel on the basis of internal identity documents, notes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The mutual travel based on IDs does not entitle you to work.
According to the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, facilitating the travel terms of the citizens of the two states on the basis of internal IDs is a visible proof of the concern of authorities of both states regarding the realisation of the right to free movement of their citizens.
The persons wishing to enter the territory of Turkey for work, pursuit of a profession or study, and those wishing to stay longer than 90 days are required to obtain a travel visa.
