Government commission for reintegration examined topical issues on Transnistrian case

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip chaired a meeting of the government commission for reintegration of the country on 8 November, and considered the current stage in negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, achievement of priorities of the Berlin plus package, goals of the multisectoral dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol and actions due to be promoted in the following period, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The premier noted that the Transnistrian issue is a government priority that needs a comprehensive approach, and in this respect, in line with the structural reforms set by the Moldovan government, requires synchronizing efforts of all national authorities in the interest of state and residents of both banks of the Dniestre.
It was noted that since July 2018, when the previous Commission meeting took place, thanks to Chisinau's constant efforts and consecutiveness in approach, progress has been made on the most current topics on the agenda of the negotiations. Among them is the resumption of access to the agricultural land located in Dubasari district, starting from 1 August, with the restoration of the 2006 mechanism.
The sides discussed the results of the implementation of the agreement aimed at the implementation of the neutral number registration mechanism and the possibility of participating in the international road traffic for the Transnistrian transport means not involved in the commercial activity with the opening of the two offices of the Public Service Agency in Tiraspol and Rabnita.
At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic pointed out the actions promoted by the Moldovan authorities to ensure free movement for pupils and employees of Romanian-language teaching institutions in the Transnistrian region.
Also they discussed the situation regarding the applications filed with the European Court of Human Rights concerning the Transnistrian region.
Joint control at the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border was addressed in terms of security features and incidents.
The deputy premier has also highlighted some of the issues recently dealt with at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and public order.
The commission members highly appreciated the efforts made by the deputy premier responsible for implementing the country’s reintegration policies and the Bureau for Reintegration with the achievement of problems related to the Transnistrian case, as well as exchanged views on the priorities due to be promoted in the coming period.
The government commission for reintegration is a working platform meant to coordinate the promotion of a single policy on the Transnistrian issue by all public authorities and has met for the third time this year.
