Science Day celebrated in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- 36 research institutions from the country participated in the 8th issue of Science Day, which took place today at the National History Museum of Moldova.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Elena Belei noted the increasing interest of the population of all ages towards the scientific researches and discoveries, thanking the partners for their support in organizing the event. "Science is the extension and supreme development of critical thinking, so indispensable to a modern society. That is why I am enjoying the presence of so many children and young people interested in everything that is science and progress," she said. In this context, she expressed admiration for the Moldovan scientific community and appreciated the efforts made by each researcher to develop science and innovation.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, in partnership with the National History Museum, National Institute of Economic Research, Institute of Zoology, Institute of Physiology and Sanocreatology, Institute of Genetics, Plant Physiology and Protection, Institute of Geology and Seismology and other institutions supported by the European Union through the EU Program for Research and Innovation (2014-2020) Horizon 2020.
The Science Day was established by a government decision in 2010, being organized in the context of the International Day of Science for Peace and Development, which was proclaimed on 2 November 2001 by UNESCO.
