Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/- A number of 27 young men and women who launched agricultural business benefited from state subsidies. The data was presented today by Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc, who handed out to beneficiaries the certificates for allocation of subsidies.
At the first stage of grant applications, 38 files were submitted, and the amount of subsidies was about 20 million lei. Only 27 of them met the eligibility criteria and were accepted for funding.
Ciubuc said that 60 percent of beneficiaries submitted projects aimed at setting up multi-annual plantations. The other applicants applied for subsidies for the production of vegetables in protected areas, modernization of zootechnical sector and post-harvesting industry.
The deputy head of the Agency for Intervention and Payment for Agriculture (AIPA), Vadim Curmei, said that after the implementation of the projects proposed by the applicants, investments worth 32 million lei will be made and about 100 new jobs will be created. He said that beneficiaries will receive their money in the account when they present proof of co-financing of projects and will sign grant agreements.
This year, 45 million lei was earmarked for grants in advance to young people and women who develop their business in agriculture.
Potential beneficiaries of subsidies must develop a feasible business plan in a rural area.
The total value of the project must not exceed one million lei. 65 percent of the expenditure provided in the project will be covered by the state, and 35 percent will be invested by the author of the idea.
