Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Ukrainian official

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Ukrainian Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Vadym Chernish have discussed cooperation in the management of processes of settlement of breakaway conflicts, as well as other aspects dealing with the national, regional and international security, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Vadim Chernish exchanged opinions on the developments on the agenda of the Transnistrian settlement in the 5+2 format, as well as the applicability of the Minsk agreements. The sides assured each other of unconditional support, meant to reconfirm the goals of the two neighbour states of territorial reunification, within the limits of the internationally recognized borders.
The Moldovan diplomacy head condemned the so-called local “polls”, held by the para-military formations from the Donbas region of Ukraine on 11 November this year. Ulianovschi said that these “elections” represented a violation of the Ukrainian legislation and a defiance of the Minsk agreements and the principles of international law. In the context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi expressed concern also about the unstable situation in Eastern Ukraine, which turns vulnerable the climate of regional and European security. He stressed that the perpetuation of hostilities in this region required proper actions on behalf of the key actors.
The officials tackled issues of the hybrid threats to the regional security, stressing the importance of focusing efforts on counteracting them.
