Moldovan authorities prepare equipment for snow removal in winter

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/- Over 500 road machines will be involved in snow-clearing works in the cold season. Authorities have prepared about 70,000 tons of anti-skid material and 15,000 tons of technical salt to fight the slide.

At the same time, Drumuri company will conclude direct contracts with the economic agents in the territory for the additional use of the snow removal technique.

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure said that there are 41 video cameras on national roads to monitor the situation in winter. Towing stations of large tonnage units will be organized on difficult road sections, if necessary.

” It is important that drivers be responsible and not go on the road not equipped properly, using summer or worn tires. We work to be ready with equipment and materials, so that we can intervene,” Economy and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici said.

Alexandru Pânzari, head of the Police Inspectorate, today urged drivers to equip their cars with winter tires.

According to meteorologists, in the coming days, sleet is expected in the country, and the air temperature will decrease.
