Moldovan government to further ensure predictability, clear-cut rules for business environment

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with the president of the National Employers’ Federation, Leonid Cerescu. The sides exchanged opinions on measures undertaken by the government so far for improving the business environment: cutting the number of institutions with control duties, of permissive acts and releasing the latter through single window, approving amendments to the Labour Code, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

All these actions have ensured a constant economic growth in the last three years of 4 per cent in 2016, 4.5 per cent in 2017 and 5 per cent in the second quarter of 2018. This fact allowed the cabinet carrying out more social projects, including to reform two important systems: the wage payment system and the retirement one. 

Leonid Cerescu appreciated the government’s openness for settling the problems of business people and the efforts for creating the best conditions for the work of the economic agents. At the same time, Cerescu named a string of problems which are still to be solved.    

The sides also set priorities for the future to strengthen the dialogue between the government and the National Employers’ Confederation. PM Pavel Filip stressed that the cabinet would further support the development of the business environment through the promotion of policies due to ensure predictability and clear-cut rules for the work of economic agents.
