Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine to establish permanent platform of communication on issues of regional conflicts

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic today had a trilateral format meeting with Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and Ukrainian Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Vadym Chernish, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.   

This event is the first one of the kind for Moldova and was organized at an initiative by the deputy prime minister in charge of carrying out the policies for the country’s reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, in order to establish and institutionalize a permanent platform of communication between Chisinau, Tbilisi and Kiev on issues dealing with unsettled conflicts.  

During discussions, the three states’ officials backed the initiative to deepen and strengthen the multi-sectoral cooperation through setting a constant dialogue format between high-ranking officials and experts in charge of working out technical solutions to problems related to regional conflicts, with periodical holding of joint events, exchanging good practices and lessons learned, coordination of measures of mutual interest, etc.   

Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic expressed full confidence of the Moldovan side in actively and fully getting involved in this process, in order to have useful exchanges of experiences, analyze, in many aspects, the phenomena and challenges triggered by the presence of unsettled conflicts, identify viable solutions of overcoming the difficulties faced, promote joint projects in the reference sector and involve relevant international partners for the constructive support of the settlement process.   

The cycle of events of this kind is to continue with the carrying out of similar activities in the capitals of Ukraine and Georgia in the near future.
