Japanese company to extend work in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ – The activity of the Fujikura factories opened in Moldova, as well as the investment plans of the Japanese company in Moldova, were discussed today at the meeting between Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and chairman Fujikura Automotive Europe, Santiago Rodriguez. Pavel Filip mentioned that the presence of such an important investor also motivates other companies to come to Moldova, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

"Thank you for your trust in Moldova and investments you have made in our country. We want to be as attractive to investors which start business and create jobs. Thus, we can ensure a better life for our citizens," said Pavel Filip. The chief of Executive stressed that the authorities have remained focused on creating an attractive business environment, "And still we shall be very close to investors, so that we can intervene whenever problems and come up with answers when there occur questions".

The president of Fujikura Automotive Europe, at his part, remarked that Moldova offers many facilities for business development and company intends to move its productions from other countries to Moldova. In this context, it was also discussed the need to improve the infrastructure in the Comrat ZEL Valkanes sub-area, where Fujikura builds a new factory with about 700 jobs and plans to expand the number of employees by another 300 ones.

At present, the company has a factory in Chisinau, where 1,200 persons work and one in Comrat – with 1,000 employees.
