Roadmap for water supply, sewerage submitted to government of Moldova

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ – The preparation process for the elaboration of the National Plan for water supply and sewarage in Moldova has been evaluated today during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, with participation of the officials in the field, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM said that this issue has been most often reported by citizens during visits to the territory. "We must admit that it is inadmissible that in the 21st century, Moldova – a country located in the centre of Europe, not to be connected to water and sewerage systems," said Pavel Filip, adding that it is necessary to assess the situation at the level of Moldova.
Thus, at the meeting, it was presented the roadmap which includes the steps and actions needed for elaboration of the National Plans of water supply and sewerage of the localities in Moldova. In the first stage, it will be assessed the availability of water from surface and underground sources in relation to Moldova's needs, enumerated existing infrastructure, and examined the existing regulatory framework. Also, there were discussed issues related to the support needed for the elaboration of this national plan.
Until the elaboration of the documents concerned, in 2019, there will be continued construction of the main streets Soroca – Balti – Sangerei – Telenesti, Chisinau – Straseni – Calarasi and Cahul – Vulcanesti – Alexandru Ioan Cuza, identified projects for connection of localities to mainstream aqueducts.
