Security, Intelligence Service officers dismantled paramilitary group

Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/- Officers of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) dismantled a paramilitary formation, operating under the so-called military-tactical games.

The group was monitored over a year, with direct connections between group members and paramilitary entities in the eastern region of Ukraine.

In this case, raids took place simultaneously in 13 locations in Chisinau municipality. Various types of weapons, combat weapon components, military equipment, grenade launchers and cartridges have been found and raised. Also, an explosive object was found, which was crafted by one of the group members.

At the same time, in late March 2018, law enforcement officials discovered about 200 munitions of battle in an improvised hideout on the territory of a polygon on the outskirts of Chisinau. At the suspects' homes, flags, ribbons, badges, military badges and blazons used by mercenaries from Ukraine have been identified.

Two criminal cases were initiated on the case.
