Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/- The Administrative Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has suspended the licence of Cantgaz for a three-month term and obliged Moldovagaz, for a four-month period, to ensure the last option supply of natural gas to the end consumers served by the company the licence of which was suspended.
ANRE’s press service said that Moldovagaz had already started activities of taking over the provision of natural gas, so that, in the nearest time, the end consumers served by Cantgaz will benefit from gas.
On 12 October 2018, the Administrative Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency approved, in line with the Law on natural gas and the Article 16 from the energy law, a decision under which it obliged Moldovagaz, during three years, to provide the public service of last option supply of natural gas.
Thus, according to the law on natural gas, “the end consumers, who lost their provider in certain circumstances (the provider ceases working, its licence was suspended or was withdrawn, the provider is impossibility to supply natural gas) have right to be supplied with natural gas, for a certain period of time, by the provider which was imposed the obligation by the public service to ensure the last option supply.”
