Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - The education institutions from Moldova will be able to make public procurement at the nourishment services for a period of up to five years and not only for one year, as the legislation sees at present. In this case, the economic agent will be obliged to make investments in the development of the infrastructure of canteens at contracting education institutions.
The government today approved amendments to the law on public money and budgetary and fiscal responsibilities. The draft’s basic goal is to attract private investments in the nourishment sector in the pre-school education institutions and schools, as five years is a reasonable term to guarantee the recovery of eventual investments, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Once this mechanism applied, decision-makers will be able to better supervise the quality of food products, especially the raw material and the technological production process. Also, the education institutions will be able to save financial means presently used for maintaining nourishment units, re-allocating this money for other expenses.
Thus, decision-makers will avoid the annual holding of public acquisitions of social services concerning nourishment in the education field and will ensure predictability of eventual contracts signed. The draft law is to be submitted to parliament for consideration and approval.
