Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip today participated in the first edition of Moldova Cluster Days 2018, organized in Chisinau, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Opening the event, the premier said that over the past years, the automotive sector has become one of the most dynamic in our country with significant investments and increased development potential. Today, 15 companies are operating in this sector, with 15 thousand employees and salaries of about 17 thousand lei.
“When we say 15 thousand employees, we actually talk about 15 thousand families, in which parents have stayed home, work here and see their children grow up. It is, in my view, a result that we have achieved together: on the one hand, we as authorities, on the other hand, as a sector of the economy, as an alliance of efforts - is a partnership that I care, that I earned with hard work and that we will further strengthen. I strongly believe that the automotive industry helps us get what we have set up: increasing income of people, creating new jobs, welfare, strong economy,” he said.
In this context, he referred to the actions taken by authorities to boost investments. He pointed out that the measures such as: reducing permits and bodies with control functions, modernizing the Labor Code and launching single window have generated high economic growth. At the same time, revenues to the state budget increased, exports increased by 30%, salaries were increased, and the number of people receiving remuneration in envelopes dropped by half.
“During three years, we laid the foundation - a solid and strong foundation. Those who have already invested in our country, have been with us in this difficult process. Every leu invested is a certificate of confidence that we, here in Moldova, have understood our priorities. Now we're going to build together. The Republic of Moldova will always be a country where you will like to invest more and more,” he said.
Automotive Cluster Days is a platform for setting mutually beneficial connections between multinational automotive companies and potential local and international automotive suppliers. The event brought together over 200 local suppliers of automotive industry, residents of the Balti Free Economic Zone, as well as representatives of international companies in the field.
