Twenty eight young persons, women request subsidies for launching agro – business in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ – A number of 28 young persons and women which have proposed the launching or development of their businesses in agriculture filed applications for subsidies worth over MDL 15 million during the second stage of receiving the applications. It ended on 14 November 2018.
The authors of 28 investment projects have planned investments in the agricultural sector of over MDL 37 million, which could generate the creation of over 70 new jobs.
According to the Agency for Agriculture Intervention and Payments (AIPA), most cases, 18 in number, were filed by women. Ten other applications were signed by young farmers.
Almost half of applicants have requested subsidies for setting up and upgrading multi – annual plantations. Also, each third investment project submitted concerns the equipment or renovation of livestock farms. There has been submitted the lowest number of applications for the production of vegetables and fruits on protected land and development of post – harvest infrastructure,.
The 28 files are to be examined by the AIPA Central Office and sent for evaluation to a special commission.
Following the first stage of receiving applications for advance grants, there were selected 27 investment projects, the owners of which are to receive subsidies worth MDL 13 million. In 2018, it has been allocated MDL 45 million for the grant of advance subsidies to young persons and women which develop their agro – business.
