Moldovan Democrats' leader meets new U.S. Ambassador

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ – The deepening of the bilateral cooperation and the strategic partnership of Moldova and USA in all fields has been discussed today at a meeting of Democrats' leader (PDM), Vlad Plahotniuc, with the new US ambassador to Moldova, Dereck J. Hogan.
The Democrats' leader introduced the US diplomat with the vision of PDM Pentru Moldova (For Moldova), showing confidence that this is the way forward for the future of Moldova. Also, the head of PDM explained briefly the social and political evolutions of Moldova since the PDM has took over the governance of Moldova. Regarding the forthcoming parliamentary elections, Vlad Plahotniuc has specified that the PDM supports fully free, fair and transparent elections, stating that Moldova is open to receiving suggestions from the United States of America onto electoral process.
Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan said that there has been a growing focus on Moldova in Washington. The diplomat reiterated the American commitment to the Western course of Moldova, also appreciating the general work of Government, as well as the efforts made to solve the Transnistrian conflict.
The leader of PDM and US diplomat agreed to maintain a steady dialogue upon all issues of mutual concern.
The new US Ambassador to Chisinau, Dereck J. Hogan, was accredited in early November, following his nomination by U.S. President Donald Trump.
