Meteorologists announce yellow code for complicated weather conditions in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced the Yellow Code for the complicated weather conditions for 19 November.
According to meteorologists, on Monday, 19 November, it is forecasted strong precipitation (7 – 15 l/m2), predominantly in the form of sleet and snow. There will also be snowstorms, isolated glazed frost, ice roads and snowdrifts.
In this context, the rescuers caution the population to take account of weather warnings and not to go on long journeys if there is no need. If these trips are indispensable, the clothes must be appropriate to the outside temperature, and meals are required to provide the body with energy. Also, the drivers are urged to equip their vehicles with winter tyres, and in the trunk of the car to keep the shovel, sand, water reserves and food.
The specialists recommend that people which choose to go on a long journey keep the charged battery of the phone, and in case of emergency call the emergency service 112. The people are also urged to avoid moving on portions where branches and electric cables hang on as to avoid trauma.
In case of Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous, forecasted weather phenomena are common to the territory of Moldova but may temporarily become dangerous for certain socio – economic activities.
