Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/- There are difficult routes in the country, but no blocked roads. The data were submitted by the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP).
INP's press officer Natalia Golovco said that due to blizzard, road condition can change suddenly. "Currently, 110 patrol inspectors and 53 mobile crews are operating in the country to optimize road traffic and help drivers. In the last 24 hours, four serious road accidents have occurred, resulting in four people injured. At the same time, the patrol crews accompany the special vehicles for snow removal and sprinkling anti-skid material,” Golovco said.
The head of the State Road Administration's Operational Service, Sergiu Capatina, said that 256 tons of anti-skid material were scattered during the night. "53 workers and 46 special machines were involved in the process. All dangerous sectors are continuously monitored and if necessary, to intervene,” Capatina said.
This morning, more residents of the capital were dissatisfied with the difficult conditions of traffic and jams. Director of Exdrupo enterprise Adrian Boldurescu announced that special vehicles intervened in the early morning.
Also, the local authorities announced that 22 tractors and 10 HACO machines are involved in cleaning the sidewalks. If necessary, economic agents in the capital are ready to intervene with specialized machinery. The deputy head of Public Transport Directorate, Vitalie Butucel, noted that tires of trolley buses and buses in the city are multi-annual. "They were properly equipped for the cold season of the year," Butucel said.
The press officer of General Inspectorate for Emergencies, Liliana Puscasu, warned drivers to go into traffic only after the transport vehicle is equipped with winter tires. “Rescuers urge drivers to have a shovel, sand and chains. Also, it is advisable to charge the mobile phone battery, and in case of emergency, people can call the 112 service,” Puscasu said.
The State Hydrometeorological Service announced for today heavy rain (7-15 l / m 2), predominantly in the form of snow and sleet. Meteorologists said that icy roads and snow-drift are expected in the country.
