Five minibuses whith no winter tyres removed from routes in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ – Five minibuses have been removed from routes today because they were not equipped with winter tyres.
The checks were carried out by the staff of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) at nine bus stations and on the national routes. Within a few hours, there were verified a total amount of 77 transport units.
Also, the patrol inspectors discussed with bus and minibus drivers about precautions in road traffic, during heavy snow and in low visibility conditions.
Head of the INP's Public relations service, Alina Bunghez, has informed the agency that under the road traffic regulation (RCR), "the drivers are required to install winter tyres only in adverse weather conditions when there is snow, ice or sleet on the road".
The drivers who will drive their vehicles without winter tyres risk a fine from MDL 900 – 1,500 for individuals and MDL 4,500 – 6,000 for legal entities.
