Enhancing competitiveness as priority for agriculture ministry

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/- Improving competitiveness, which requires a set of investment measures in the agricultural sector, is among the priorities of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, not just for the next year, but also in a strategy planned by 2021, Minister Nicolae Ciubuc told an interview with MOLDPRES Agency.
According to the official, investments in multiannual plantations, vineyards and orchards, in the production of vegetables on green fields (greenhouses, solar), in the development of the zootechnical sector and the post-harvest infrastructure will continue in the next period. "All these activities are based on the main purpose of promoting us as effectively as possible on foreign markets," he said.
“As a result of the situation this year, when we faced low agricultural prices, we have proposed that one of the actions to increase investment is to revise the grant mechanism for post-harvest infrastructure. We plan to make more efforts to pay more attention, as well as more money in this sector, so as to increase investments and help reduce the problems on outlets," he said.
