Authorities to carry out checks after Moldovan bus overturned in Romania

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici today asked the National Road Transport Agency (ANTA) to set out the legality of the bus activity, recently involved in a road accident in Romania. At the same time, the activity of the company providing the passenger transport service in Italy will be also checked up.
Following the accident, Gaburici asked to be taken rigorous controls in organizing road transport activities and to be regularly monitored the way of provision of transport services. "Please check as strictly as possible the technical condition of the transport units. I ask you to ensure the quality of the services provided by the carriers and take the necessary measures so as to guarantee the safety of the passengers," he said.
Gaburici requested to be made an interpellation to the Romanian authorities, serving the road to determine the road conditions at the time of accident. "The report of the Romanian Road Police is needed, as regards the technical condition of the bus to identify the cause of the accident," he said.
The Ministry of Economy said in a press release that the device that monitors the working time of drivers will also be checked.
A bus registered in Moldova was overthrown on 19 November 2018 near Marasesti, Romania. Following the accident, one person died and six were injured.
