Victims of political repressions to get compensation in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ – Almost MDL 1.5 million from the state budget will be allocated to six people, victims of political repression, who lost their property after their nationalisation or confiscation. The Executive has approved a ruling on it today.

According to the the government’s communication and protocol department, the financial means will be granted to offset the value of the lost goods, including payment of the single tranche to persons aged 75 years. The monetary compensations were allocated on the basis of the decisions of the local public administration, for the persons in Cahul, Criuleni, Ocnita, Straseni, Chisinau and Cantemir.

According to the document, if the goods do not exceed MDL 200,000, the payment of compensation to the beneficiary may be spread over a period of up to 3 years, and if the value of the goods exceeds this amount – for a period up to 5 years.

In 2018, the Executive has allocated MDL 5.48 million for similar compensation to other 63 beneficiaries. Totally, for this purpose for 2018 in the state budget it is planned over MDL 22.5 million.
