Eighty points for collecting electronic equipment to be set up in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - Eighty points for collecting electric and electronic equipment will be created within a project titled, Clean City with Recycled E-Waste, carried out in partnership with the Chisinau local public administration.
The E-waste represents the waste of electric and electronic equipment, including portable batteries.
According to the Chisinau city hall, the initiative sees the institutions and the residents getting aware of the need to collect and recycle waste, in order to reduce the indexes of environment’s pollution.
The project’s initiator speaks out for the re-introduction of the old and worn-out technology into the economic circulation starting the moment when it becomes waste through collection and recycling.
The project is set to develop a network of separate collection of e-waste in the Chisinau city. The initiative, Clean City with Recycled E-Waste, is meant for public employees, who will be encouraged to correctly collect and sort electronic waste at offices, economic agents, as well as representatives of the academic environment, as promoters of ecological messages and practices of correct management of e-waste.
Each of the institutions selected for participating in the project will be provided special dumpsters for the correct collection of e-waste, benefiting from information and logistic support on behalf of the project’s organizers and partners.
A form is needed to be filled in to participate in the project till 30 November 2018.
The initiative belongs to the Association for Turning to Account of Waste and is carried out in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry, Moldrec Association, Chisinau city hall, the Small Grants Programme of the Global Environment Fund and the United Nations Development Programme.
