Moldovan diplomacy head meets ambassador of the Netherlands

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Bucharest-based Ambassador of the Netherlands to Moldova Stella Ronner-Grubačić discussed ways of deepening the Moldovan-Dutch dialogue, both at the bilateral level and the European one, at a meeting today, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.    

Tudor Ulianovschi highly appreciated the work of the Office of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Chisinau during almost two years after it had been opened. The Moldovan official noted that this represents a proof of the priority given by the Netherlands to the bilateral relations with Moldova.

„Given that the Netherlands is on second position in a ranking of countries with most foreign direct investments in Moldova, the commercial and economic ties are constantly growing and the assistance provided to implement the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) contributes to the promotion of the exchange of experience with Moldovan entrepreneurs, including in strengthening the export capacities, implementing the quality and food safety standards, enhancing abilities of strategic planning and marketing, as well as establishing relations with importers from EU,” the Moldovan diplomacy head said.   

At the same time, Ulianovschi hailed the support of the Dutch government for projects implemented in Moldova, preponderantly through the MATRA Programme, scholarships at the Clingendael Institute, as well as in the field of  banking regulation and supervision and strengthening the economic diplomacy.   

Ambassador Stella Ronner-Grubačić reiterated the importance of the irreversibility of Moldova’s European integration and consolidating citizens’ trust. In the context of holding the parliamentary polls, the diplomat stressed the importance to carry out free and transparent elections, due next year.   

The two officials also tackled progress made in the process of Transnistrian conflict settlement, measures undertaken to strengthen the confidence between the two banks of Dniester, regional security, etc.
